Horizontal Drilling Permits in Ohio Go Over 500, Drilled Wells Over 200

More than 200 horizontal wells now have been drilled into the Utica shale, according to Ohio Department of Natural Resources records.
The milestone was passed sometime last week, with ODNR’s Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management reporting that 205 wells had been drilled. That’s up from 199 wells drilled through the last week of December.
Of the wells drilled, 47 are listed as producing. That’s two more than last week.
