New Hotels and Apartments Appearing in Belmont County

Largely due to the housing demand created by oil and natural gas industry workers, new hotels and apartment complexes continue popping up in Belmont County - including a new 48-unit project at the site along National Road once home to "The Grove "restaurant.

As Kodiak Management develops these two-bedroom apartments set to open soon, yet another hotel is under construction at the top of the hill overlooking the Ohio Valley Mall and Interstate 70. This property will join the longtime Hampton Inn and the newer Microtel Inn & Suites at the site. 
And although New York Mercantile Exchange prices for natural gas and oil remain lower than at this time last year, producers such as Chesapeake Energy, EnerVest, Gulfport Energy, Rice Energy, Antero Resources and numerous others continue acquiring acreage in the Utica Shale. This means the demand for temporary housing in eastern Ohio is likely to remain high.
