Ohio DNR Addresses Chesapeake's Water Well at Carroll County Meeting

The only thing missing from Mike Hallfrisch’s “class” on groundwater rights and resources at the Carroll Soil and Water Conservation District’s (SWCD) annual meeting was the test at the end of the program. 
Hallfrisch, water inventory and planning program supervisor for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Soil and Water Resources, presented an educational “course” on surface water and ground water withdrawal rights and regulations as per the Ohio Revised Code. He then dove into “Part 2” of the program which hit home: a water well drilled by Chesapeake Energy on Cobbler Rd. in Washington Twp. known as the “Blazer Well” to supply water for the hydraulic fracturing of oil and gas wells in the county.
