Pittsburgh Corps of Engineers releases FONSI for pipeline project

The Pittsburgh District has released the draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) document related to the Halcon Field Services SRC Pipeline Project in the vicinity of the Shenango Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, Ohio.

The proposed project includes the installation of a 16-inch gathering pipeline 2,867 feet beneath federal land by method of horizontal direction drilling into order to connect Halcon’s Brugler Well Pad in Trumbull County and a proposed natural gas gathering system in Mercer County, Pa. Upon completion of the proposed project, the gathering line will serve to transport natural gas that is extracted within the region.

To comply with the National Environmental Policy Act the Army Corps of Engineers prepared an environmental assessment for this project and concluded that the action had no significant adverse impacts to natural and cultural resources.

The draft FONSI will be available for a 30-day review period beginning Sept. 10 at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483. The library reference desk can be reached at (330) 399-8807 ext. 109.

The draft FONSI will also be available online at www.lrp.usace.army.mil.
