Ohio Passes 150 Producing Utica Wells; Another Active Week For Carroll County Permits

The latest weekly update on Utica shale horizontal well permits has been released by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

14 new permits were issued last week.  Half of those were for Carroll County, with 5 to Chesapeake and 2 to Rex Energy.  3 permits were for Harrison County, 2 for Noble County, and 1 each for Guernsey and Mahoning counties.

The latest round of activity brings the cumulative total for permits to 882.  542 wells have been drilled, and the number of producing wells has jumped all the way up to 152.  The Utica rig count dropped to 31.
