American Energy Partners Announces $1.75 Billion Worth of Acquisitions

Aubrey McClendon’s company has announced the billion-dollar deals hinted at late last month and has entered two of the most active shale plays in the country. 
American Energy Partners LP has acquired 75,000 acres of land in southern Utica and Marcellus shale plays for $1.75 billion, the company said Monday. It’s buying the land, which holds 175 million of cubic feet equivalent per day of gas, from East Resources Inc. and an undisclosed company. 
The land is in Ohio and West Virginia; 27,000 acres are in Monroe County, and the rest is situated in five West Virginia counties bordering eastern Ohio.
