Only 3 New Utica Shale Permits Last Week


The latest permitting update from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources reveals that last week was a a slow one for Utica shale permits.

Only 3 new permits were issued, all of them to Chesapeake.  1 was for Carroll County and the other 2 were for Columbiana County.

The week brought the total number of drilling permits to 1033, with 661 wells drilled and 249 producing.  The Utica rig count is 39.
