ODNR Report Shows Permitting Picks Back Up Last Week


The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has released its latest weekly permitting report for Utica shale drilling.  After a couple of slow weeks, activity seems to be ramping back up.

There were 13 new permits issued last week.  5 were for Harrison County sites, driving the total there to 167.  3 each were issued for Carroll County and Belmont County, while 2 were issued for Noble County.

This round of activity brings the cumulative permit total to 1061, with 697 wells drilled and 292 producing.  The Utica rig count is 40.
