Oil & Gas Officials Addressing Their Concerns With Utica Shale Drilling

Company leaders have concerns about the direction the oil and gas industry is going in Ohio. 
They’re nervous about the proposed severance tax and how it might affect production, they’re worried about regulations they see as driving mom-and-pop drillers out of business, and they’re wary of what they see as a combative relationship between the industry and government officials. 
Those were among concerns raised by a group of about 10 oil and gas representatives during a roundtable meeting with Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel. Mandel told the group at Producers Service Corporation in Zanesville that his purpose was to listen rather than talk — listen to their ideas and learn about the problems and struggles they face.
