More Information on Oil & Gas Production To Be Available Under New Ohio Budget

Language included in Gov. John Kasich’s original version of the budget and passed by lawmakers without changes enables ODNR and the Ohio Department of Taxation to share information that formerly was confidential to the individual state agencies. 
Taxation spokesman Gary Gudmundson said the budget provision allows his department to provide details from tax returns of oil and gas producers, showing how much they paid in severance taxes. ODNR can use that information to see if it’s in line with results reported by producers.
