Permitting Picks Up in Utica Shale Last Week; Producing Wells Increase Too

According to the latest report from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, 14 permits were issued for Utica shale drilling last week.  That brings the new cumulative total of permits issued to 2,129.  There have 1,673 wells drilled, and 1,147 are producing.  The rig count is up by one from last week, climbing to 17.
