Utica Shale Academy Looking to Expand

Ohio's first and only charter school geared toward the oil and gas industry is looking to expand as soon as next school year. 
The Utica Shale Academy, the Columbiana County high school that opened in 2014, is eyeing neighboring counties like Belmont and Jefferson for similar schools, director Eric Sampson told me. 
"If things go as we hope, then next year we could have a few more shale academies throughout the eastern Ohio area," he said. 
Sampson isn't worried about attracting more students, even as low oil and gas prices are starting to negatively impact the Utica shale play.
