9 New Utica Shale Permits; Total Goes Over 750

In a relatively slow week, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources approved 9 new Utica shale permits last week.

3 of those permits went to Carroll County, which now sits at 295 total permits.  Of the remaining 6, 3 were for Noble County, which now has 49 permits.  Columbiana, Guernsey and Trumbull counties each received 1 permit to account for the rest.

There have now been 756 permits issued for horizontal drilling in Ohio's Utica shale.  374 wells have been drilled, 109 are producing, and the Utica rig count for last week was 32.
