Chesapeake Provides Update on Louisville Industrial Park

Keith Fuller, senior director of government affairs for Chesapeake, told council that within 24 months, three buildings will be constructed in the industrial park area. A five-story main building will house the headquarters of the Utica shale region. A second building will be occupied by Chesapeake Oil Field Service Co. The third building will serve as a vehicle storage and repair facility. A new access road off state Route 44 and bridge near the sewage treatment plant are under construction. Fuller indicated 500 employees are in the Stark County-Carroll County areas working on both the industrial park and 87 well sites. The ultimate employee count will depend on production. Stark County Auditor Alan Harold said that the school district will not see significant income from the Chesapeake industrial park until about 2016 and 2017.
