Drilling Activity Leads to Job Fair in Youngstown Next Week

New jobs keep pouring into the state from the shale exploration, and next week will bring more opportunities for those looking to find employment.

According to an article on businessjournaldaily.com, a Swiss oilfield services company, Weatherford International, will hold a job fair at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on Tuesday, March 13 and Wednesday, March 14.  The company is looking to recruit employees to work at a regional hub it is establishing in the area.  More after the jump...

While the exact location of Weatherford's new facility has not been announced, radio and web ads are announcing the job fair and inviting any who are interested to attend.  The ads direct people to Weatherford's website to view available positions.  Youngstown is the only Ohio location listed on that site.

The notice of the job fair at the OneStopOhio website states the event will be held March 13 from noon until 8 p.m. and March 14 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at MCCTC, 7300 North Palmyra Road, Canfield.

Weatherford, which describes itself on its website as “one of the largest global providers of products and services that span the drilling, evaluation, completion, production and intervention cycles of oil and natural gas wells. Weatherford is a new breed of service company -- one that can provide the industry with extended products and services, more efficient operations, more powerful research and development capabilities and greater geographic diversity,” employees over 50,000 people in 100 countries.

All of this job creation in Ohio is very exciting.  We'll keep sharing stories like this one as they come in!
